Boardwalk Empire Celebrates its Final Season


All empires eventually end. Of the TV series that have gone on to the great DVR in the sky in the past year (or are headed there in the coming months), HBO’s Boardwalk Empire seems to be going extra quietly, despite what the advertisements doth protest. Despite critically acclaimed performances and at least one universally praised season—that’d be last year’s incredibly morose Greek tragedy—the show’s never blown up culturally the way most HBO vehicles are expected to, which almost definitely led to the “creative decision” to end the series with this last eight episode batch that began last night.

Here Are the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Award Nominees


The nominees for the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards were released earlier this morning. The show goes down on Sept. 20 in Atlanta; Snoop Dogg is hosting this year’s event, which will premiere on October 14 at 8 p.m. EST. Drake leads this year’s nominations with a total of eight nods (Track of the year nominees are the producers, not the artists). Iggy Azalea, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and many, many more are nominated.

The Wire is Returning to HBO


HBO are remastering the entire series of The Wire for broadcast, it is believed.

Despite no official statement from the American cable channel, reports suggest that HD versions of every episode will be aired on a nightly basis from next Monday.

Dan Bilzerian Says He Will Donate $1Mil to ALS If Ellen Degeneres Blows a Dude


Dan Bilzerian did the Ice Bucket Challenge 2 weeks ago and nominated only one person, Ellen Degeneres. Ellen has yet to acknowledge Bilzerian’s challenge and Dan decided to up the stakes, by posting an Instagram today with some random footage from his IBC, and adding that if Ellen blows a dude, he will donate $1 Million to the ALS Foundation.
