Jordan Brand x Derek Jeter Collection


In a move we all saw coming, Jordan Brand has released an official Jeter collection to celebrate the storied career of the Yankee shortstop. The label pays RE2PECT to an icon with a special release of the Air Jordan 1 and Flight Flex Trainer inspired by the classic New York uniforms. Midnight Navy and Sail dominate each shoe, with subtle highlights including pinstripes and gold logos inspired by greatness.

Nike Air Huarache Run Collection


The Air Huarache is without any doubt celebrating a strong comeback these days, one might even say that it is catching mainstream appeal for the first time ever. As part of the Air Huarache Run Collection the sneaker comes in a university red/black colorway and a black/university red colorway. Both priced at $110, the sneakers are expected to release on September 20 at select retailers and Nike.com.

Saucony Shadow 6000 “Running Man”


A celebrated running classic, the Saucony Shadow 6000 has seen in its adaptations in recent time. The latest of such comes in the form of the “Running Man” pack. Consisting of two colorways — red and navy — the sneaker features a mixed fabricated upper, where suede panels overlay a mesh base, while silver Saucony branding at the vamp provides bold accents. Nike Air Max 95 “Triple Black”


Conceptualized 18 years ago and becoming one of the most recognized silhouettes in the footwear industry, Nike has now released a premium iteration of its classic Air Max 95 model. The sneaker’s upper is constructed with suede and leather panels, which then sits upon a visible air sole unit. As the name suggests, the entire shoe features tonal blacks but embroidered branding and 3M reflective detailing brings some contrast to finish it off. The Nike Air Max 95 is now available to purchase at select Nike stockists including Sneaker Politics for $160 USD.

Air Jordan 1 Retro ’99 “Last Shot”


The “Last Shot” pays tribute to the iconic original with a plush, predominately black combination leather upper and updated details that celebrate an all-time hoops superstar. Contrasting red accents at the Jumpman logo, tongue, heel and sole stitching give the shoe some color, while hits of grey further subdue the pair. As always, an Air-Sole heel unit delivers the same soft, lightweight cushioning that made the shoe famous. Marking the start of Roger Federer’s 2014 New York grand slam bid, the shoe symbolizes the championship mindset of both Federer and Jordan. Their twin obsessions have a common denominator in Tinker Hatfield, who created signature shoes for both transcendent athletes, albeit decades apart.

Nike Presents “Genealogy of Innovation” Commercial


A new commercial from Nike sees the sportswear and lifestyle brand track its footwear history over the last 43 years. Entitled “Genealogy of Innovation”, the spot looks at seven key game-changing eras – Genesis, Reformation, Golden Years, Enlightenment, Renaissance, Transformation, and Revolution – showcasing the most important shoes from each. The advert was directed and produced by Shoreditch-based studio Golden Wolf.
