Super Bowl Says Goodbye to Roman Numerals


There will be no Super Bowl L. Oh, don’t worry, the NFL’s annual championship game and crossover sports spectacle will still take place at the San Francisco 49ers’ new Levi’s Stadium in 2016. It just won’t be labeled with a Roman numeral that translates to English shorthand for “loser.”

49ers Agree To 6-Year/$110M Deal With Colin Kaepernick


Now that Colin Kaepernick has moved away and appears to be in clear from the Miami incident where he was being investigated for sexual assault over, the San Francisco 49ers have finally granted him his wishes. Kaepernick finally got a chance to sit-down with the front office of his time for the first time since February, with hopes of getting a contract extension done before training camp begins in a few weeks. He officially became their franchise quarterback after leading the team to a successful run during the 2013 playoffs.

NFL to Ban the Usage of the N Word


Next season, the NFL will be adopting a new rule in place to ban usage of the N-word during games on-field. John Wooten, of The Fritz Pollard Alliance has revealed the league is set in place for a permanent banning of the word before the 2014 season begins. Uttering the word will result in an immediate 15-yard penalty for offensive and defense players.

The Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos are heading for Super Bowl XLVIII. The top seeds in their respective conferences, the Seahawks and Broncos prevailed on their home fields on the NFL’s Championship Sunday. When the teams meet at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, Richard Sherman and the Seahawks’ No. 1 defense will attempt to slow down Peyton Manning and the Broncos’ No. 1 offense in a classic matchup of strength vs. strength.

Deaf Seattle Seahawk Derrick Coleman’s Inspirational ‘Duracell’ Commercial


Coleman lost his hearing at the age of 3, and got by using hearing aids and an ability to read lips. Raised in Los Angeles, Coleman was a star fullback at Troy High School (Fullerton, CA) and was rated the #2 fullback in the country entering college. After a standout career at UCLA, including a senior year that saw him rush for 765 yards and score 11 touchdowns along with his excellent blocking, Coleman put his name in for the 2012 NFL draft… and no one picked him.

The Associated Press announced its starters and second team for the NFL All-Pro team Friday, as determined by 50 AP voters. These are the designations that are given extra weight when the Pro Football Hall of Fame voting comes up. It’s the best historical indication of what players truly dominated their positions.
