Phil Jackson Compares MJ & Kobe in New Book ‘Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success’


Phil Jackson has been hesitant in comparing Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant despite his first hand knowledge of both players and their immense talents on the court. With the release of his latest book Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success, Jackson finally places pen to paper and describes who he thinks is the more complete player. The Los Angeles Times, which received an advance copy of the 339-page book, provided some details of Jackson’s Jordan and Bryant comparison.

Meet the NBA Writer Who DID NOT Vote for LeBron James


Lebron James won the NBA MVP award, but was one vote shy of being the first unanimous winner. James received 1,207 points and 120 out of a possible 121 first-place votes, with Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony receiving one vote. James beat out, in order: Thunder forward Kevin Durant (765 points), Anthony (475 points), Clippers guard Chris Paul (289 points) and Lakers guard Kobe Bryant (184 points).

NBA Player Jason Collins Announces He’s Gay


“I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.” With these three short sentences in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated, Jason Collins, with the help of writer Franz Lidz, told the sports world two things it already knew, and one that it didn’t, and in doing so has made history, becoming the first active male player in any of the big four of American sports leagues—baseball, hockey, basketball, and football—to come out as gay.
