Mountain Dew Drops Lil Wayne Due to Offensive Lyrics


PepsiCo Inc severed ties with rapper Lil Wayne on Friday over a graphic reference to slain U.S. civil rights figure Emmett Till in a song. Lil Wayne, 30, had been the face of the PepsiCo drink Mountain Dew’s “Deweezy” campaign, a play on the rapper’s “Weezy” nickname.

After multiple seizures forced rapper Lil Wayne to be hospitalized last week, there have been conflicting reports about his health. From an induced coma to a near death state, fans have been up in arms not knowing what to believe. However, Weezy’s camp is doing what they can insisting that he is doing well and that the coma reports are false. Lil Wayne also had several visitors this weekend like Drake, Nicki Minaj and mentor Birdman.
