Jay Z’s $20M Recordings Allegedly Involved In Extortion Plot


A set of master recordings by Jay Z have reportedly become the subject of a theft and extortion plot worth millions of dollars. TMZ claims police have questioned a producer who worked for the rapper at Roc-A-Fella Records from 1998 to 2002. The website states that Chauncey Mahan had a number of the recordings in a storage facility in Northridge, California.

Jay Z’s old apartment recently came onto the market for $870,000 USD. Located at 560 State Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, the two-bedroom duplex was allegedly used as a stash spot when he moved in between 1996-1997 as mentioned in his hit Empire State of Mind. Jay-Z is forging forward as a luxury mogul with his new Comador Cigar line, made by General Cigar Company and bearing the prestigious Cohiba label. The official website says that the cigars are made “by the master blenders of Cohiba” in Dominican Republic, and the company has launched official Twitter and Facebook pages as well.
