Blake Griffin Has Two Highlight-reel Dunks During Team USA Practice

Monday, July 9th, 2012

Blake Griffin has dunked all over the NBA in his first two seasons with the Clippers and over the weekend he offered a sneak peek at what the global basketball community can expect at the London Olympics later this month.

Griffin, an All-Star forward, put on a show for teammates and spectators alike in Las Vegas where he threw down a couple of vicious dunks at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center.

In one of the dunks — both are featured on YouTube — Griffin throws the ball off of the gym’s wall, lets it bounce off the hardwood then leaps, grabs the rock with his right hand and unleashes a one-handed tomahawk. His display draws a smile from ex-Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni, who is one of the Team USA assistant coaches.

Another clip shows Griffin — who’ll make his debut with Team USA in London later this month — throw the ball off the backboard to himself as part of a between-the-legs right-handed dunk.
