Furniture design has a lot to thank a certain Charles Eames (and, indeed, his wife, Ray) for because they helped steer interior design in a whole new direction of luxury coupled with style and comfort. The flagship piece of furniture from the Eames’ design stable is unquestionably that of the Charles Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman which can be seen, in its considerable glory, above. This piece of furniture truly defined a generation of furniture design and it is astonishing to believe that it was first released over half a century ago in 1956.
