Michael Jordan’s $33M Contract Up For Auction

Following Michael Jordan‘s fifth title run, the legendary shooting guard signed an unprecedented $33 million USD contract – the most valuable contract in NBA history – with the Chicago Bulls for the ’97-’98 season, which of course proved to be worth every penny. Featuring the signature of MJ, former Bulls General Manager Jerry Krause and Financial Officer Irwin Mandel, the historical 24-page contract was purchased back in 2000 for less than $1,000 USD by an anonymous buyer. Now with a current bid of $47,500 USD at the time of posting, the internet auction can be seen here until its closes on July 30. “It’s hard to compare this to anything we’ve sold,” said Chris Ivy, Heritage Auctions’ director. “It’s Jordan, who is in a class by himself, and, to our knowledge, this is the only Jordan playing contract to ever surface.”

The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Trailer

Today, the first trailer for the Mad Max: Fury Road is available, and it looks like a film not from 2014 or even 2003, but 1973 — in the best possible way. The footage is full of practical effects, and computer animation is used to supplement and embellish images of real cars tearing through the desert at lethal speeds. Where its contemporaries would use CG to fill the frame, Mad Max: Fury Road appears to be using real humans and steel.
