News Anchors Reaction To An Earthquake Goes Viral


The 4.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Monday near Westwood caught many early risers off guard, but for KTLA-TV Channel 5 news anchor Chris Schauble, it was the shock heard ’round the Internet. Schauble’s expression and ensuing on-air duck-and-cover during the temblor took off on social media almost as quickly as the quake itself.

Google’s Android Wear Smartwatches


Google has announced Android Wear, a version of its mobile operating system tailored for smartwatches and other wearable devices. Instead of just adding phonelike features to your wrist, Android Wear will focus on notifications and quick responses. The idea is to show information as you need it while keeping interaction to a minimum. So while you’d still take out your phone to read through Facebook or write an email, you could use a smartwatch to check on a to-do list, view directions or scan your boarding pass at the airport.

‘Passion’ is the story of Jack Passion, a man who has defied social convention and become an ambassador for the sport of competitive beard growing. Through good times and bad, he has pushed on to become the two time world beard champion. He shares this inspirational story with us and guides us through his world in a 7 minute narrative doc. He considers what his world has become due to his beard and contemplates the thought of a world without, much like that of the story of Samson and Delilah, he too faces the conflict of losing all he has become with just the cut of his hair.

Choco Chicken – Chocolate Fried Chicken


It uses chocolate kind of like an umami ingredient to enhance and make the chicken more savory. Rather than make a dessert-mash-up sweet concoction, it’s really a savory concoction. It’s almost indescribable. It’s really the perfect food. You bite into it and it’s crazy juicy, not dried out. We have a brining process that we do for a day. The outside is really dark because of the chocolate. It plays with your mind, because you think it’s going taste one way, but then you bite into it and you’re like, ‘Wow, this is so different from what I thought it would be–but really delicious.’ It just tastes like happiness.

Endoftheline | Surfer Apocalypse Mural in LA’s Melrose District


EndoftheLine‘s Jim Vision headed over to LA’s Melrose district with paints in hand and rollers tucked in to his backpack. We hooked up with renowned skate shop Brooklyn Project and took to their back wall with a new piece that unfortunately took on reality with the recent flood warnings and torrential rain. The artwork showed ships and surfers battling the waves amidst an apocalyptic storm.
