Total Recall’s Three-Titty Woman Causes Buzz

For those who assume all geeks are brainiacs, consider some of the less-than-astute questions Kaitlyn Leeb fielded last week at Comic Con in San Diego. The Toronto-based actress, currently in Calgary shooting an episode of CBC’s Heartland, appeared last Friday at the massive convention to help promote the upcoming reboot of the mind-bending sci-fi thriller Total Recall.

Her role is known only as the Seductive Woman. But she has become better known as the three-breasted woman, or some variation along those lines, in the flurry of media and online chatter that has followed her appearance.

Leeb showed up in full character, fitted in the prosthetics that she wore in the film and stealing attention from stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. But her appearance also seemed to lead some in the geek-fan contingent to become flustered and ask questions that were not particularly well thought out.

“There were a bunch of people at Comic Con asking if I had surgery for the third one,” says Leeb with a laugh. “Others thought that the two on the side were real. I guess that’s the one thing that bothers me the most is that they think I’m out there prancing around Comic Con with my breasts out. They really are not mine.

“I’m more covered than I am at a day-to-day basis.”

So, for the record, all three breasts are fake.

This hasn’t prevented the actress from becoming an online sensation. Total Recall — The New 3-Boob’d Chick . . . REVEALED! thundered celebrity website TMZ.com, one of dozens if not hundreds of sites that picked up on the story.

Buzz began building a few days before her Comic Con appearance when a trailer for the film revealed for the first time that the memorable three-breasted prostitute from the 1990 original would be rejigged for the reboot.

Last Friday, the 24-year-old actress spent four hours getting herself into the prosthetics and the next six hanging around the Columbia Pictures Total Recall booth with Farrell, Biel and Beckinsale.

Since her daylong excursion at Comic Con, her picture has been everywhere, including US Magazine to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, Examiner and Sun.

“This is all very new for me,” she says. “Every day is new. It’s just really crazy and exciting at the same time. My Twitter following has gone up. It’s crazy, but really cool.”

Leeb admits she has no idea how much screen time she actually has in the film, which will be released next Friday. The actress was sworn to secrecy when she was offered the role. The prosthetic, which is made of silicone, was custom built for her last summer. She shot her scenes in Toronto with Farrell last September, but wasn’t allowed to tell even her closest friends what the role entailed.

“They didn’t want to release too early that there would be a three-breasted woman from the original,” she said. “It was hush-hush. I had to fly to Los Angeles a couple of times last June and July to do the body cast to create the three breasts and my agent said ‘Don’t tell anyone!’”

While she’s enjoying the attention, Leeb is also marching forward with her career. That includes a presumably less salacious role in the CBC girl-and-her-horse family drama Heartland. She will appear in at least four episodes of Season 6 as Cassandra, a vet assistant who befriends stableboy lead Ty (Graham Wardle.)

She is no stranger to shooting in Calgary, having filmed the indie web film, Love Me, last October.

As for the impact the Three-breasted woman will have on her career, Leeb says time will tell.

“I guess I have to be careful with the next roles that would come up,” she said. “You don’t want to get typecast.”
