It was reported yesterday that Rick Ross has cancelled concerts in North Carolina due to receiving death threats and being warned by various sets of the Gangster Disciples street gang. The GDs have been sending stern warnings to Rick Ross and the entire Maybach Music Group over videos over the last few weeks. They advise that anyone part of the MMG camp is not welcome in their respective cities that they represent and are in fact in danger.
Reports claim that the gang’s beef with the Bawse stems from a reference to imprisoned GD leader Larry Hoover on the 2010 track “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and the Star of David-displaying artwork for the rapper’s recent Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape — the gang uses a similar logo.
While it hasn’t been confirmed that the concerts were cut due to the threats, some have expressed that the threats of violence are very real and should be taken seriously.
