HODINKEE | Talking Watches with John Mayer

You may not know that Mayer is also one of the music world’s most ardent watch enthusiasts, with a timepiece collection to make anyone who knows their Sea Dweller from their Submariner drool with envy. Recently, Benjamin Clymer of must-read collector’s site Hodinkee sat down with Mayer to talk through some of his favourite models, from the Rolex that kicked off his obsession and the limited-editioned Tiffany-faced Patek Philippe to the classic 6263 Rolex Daytona.

Grand Theft Auto V Crowned the Most Successful Launch of all Time

One of the most highly anticipated games of the year doesn’t fail to disappoint as Grand Theft Auto V becomes the most successful entertainment launch of all time, after just one day. After raking in USD $800 million in the first 24 hours, GTA V is becoming the fastest selling title to date. It has already become more successful than any movie in history, however with a retail price much higher than a cinema ticket it does hold an advantage. Needless to say, it’s already a winner.

NBA Live 2014 | Official Trailer

It’s probably fair to say that EA Sports pretty much monopolizes the sports video games circuit, except where it is questioned by a rival company in one sport. Surely, this drives the designers crazy, not unlike like a silver medal haunting a champion’s otherwise golden trophy closet. With all of this in mind, the company is set to unveil NBA Live 14, tapping the promising Cleveland Caveliers star guard Kyrie Irving for the cover. Richard Sachs, a bike maestro and “industrial revolution” adopts the creative skills behind design company House Industries for a 2013 complete. The customization includes eponymous branding and logo designs applied throughout the unique color mixed frame. The clean and precise design applications embellish further parts of the complete bike set as well as a paired racing shirt, and come in both subtle detailing, and obvious signs of the collaboration with both parties’ mark on show.
