One More Reason To Complain About Facebook

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Most people have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. Love it because it’s a good way to keep in touch with friends, family and that one chick that you never had a chance to get at in high school. Hate it because every six months Mark Zuckerberg and Co. decide to completely change up the look of the site and you’re left staring at the screen like, ‘Yo, how the hell am I supposed to find that chick from high school now?’ Well, get ready for another big change. According to the New York Times tech blog Bits, Facebook will start allowing you to notify your friends where you are when you update your Facebook status. Similar to Twitter, Google Latitude and even Foursquare (though the Times point out that Facebook is taking aim at larger competitors, it’s hard to believe the move won’t affect smaller companies, too), Facebook will make the option available for all 400 million of its users. Of course, you can turn the option off, if you hate it—but good luck finding out how the hell you’re supposed to do that. The service is expected to hit the ‘book next month. —Chris Yuscavage

Great in a bloody mary, good when paired with scotch, not so hot in a white russian — unless you like the way they taste on the way back up — but what we really, really want is a recipe for a bacon cheeseburger.
